The National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for selecting candidates to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC).

The Technical Graduate Course is conducted twice a year, and successful candidates are trained at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. After completing training, they are commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army’s technical services.
